Visitor policy

Effective Friday, August 6

Due to our community being identified as a high–risk transmission area for COVID–19, Poinciana Medical Center has restricted visitor access. There will be no visitors permitted into the hospital and our emergency room at this time. Exceptions will be made for the following circumstances:

  • One parent or guardian for pediatric/minor patients
  • One support person for patients with disabilities or impairments warranting assistance

Additional exceptions will be considered on a case by case basis.

Virtual visitation is encouraged, so please consider using programs like FaceTime and Skype to visit with loved ones.

We will continue to monitor the situation and will notify you of any updates to our visitor policy as they occur. Thank you for your support in keeping our patients, colleagues and community safe.

Circumstances may allow for specific exceptions to any visitation restrictions described on this webpage. Those circumstances include religious visitation as well as a designated support person for a patient with a disability to provide assistance with communication or other necessary components of the patient's treatment. All persons entering under an exception remain subject to appropriate infection control protocols.
